Week #1
Hayden Library’s Summer Reading program each year chooses a Reader of the Week. The first “Reader” is Charlee Richards, age 6. Her parents are Courtney and Brian. She has an older brother named Easton, age 10. Easton like to play video games, and go fishing. Her best friends are Ella and Riley. They like to play on the tire swing, as well as playing with barbies. She has lived in Hayden since she was born. Her cat is name is Thomas—he loves to sleep. Her dogs name is Benny—he loves to go crazy!
Charlee’s favorite color is teal, and her favorite food is meatball subs. Her favorite book is the “Princess in Black” by Shannon Hale. Charlee wants to be a Kindergarten Teacher, just like her Kindergarten Teacher Miss Gina. Her favorite subject in school is Art, and she will be in 1st grade next year.
When asked if she had any advice for kids about reading she said, “Read more! Read for fun, read with your mom, and read by yourself.” When she learned she was Reader of the Week, Charlee said she was “Happy!” Especially because she gets a goody bag!

Hayden Library’s second Reader of the Week is Kimble Rose, age 10. His parents are Dolly and Corey. He has a younger sister named Hazel, age 7. His best friends are Timber, age 10 and Quincy, also age 10. They enjoy shooting each other with orbez guns for fun. He is actually from Craig and has lived there since he was born. He has three dogs. Two Frenchie’s named Angus, and Lulu, as well as a Border Collie named Ellie.
Kimble’s favorite color is light green. His favorite food is mac and cheese, home made specifically. His favorite subject in school is physical education, and he will be in 5th grade next year. His favorite book is Team Roping by Renee Ambrosek. It is no surprise that he wants to be a team roper when he grows up, just like his babysitters’ brother, Rider. He also wants to be a professional motor cross racer, because riding dirt bikes is his favorite summer activity. He sprained his wrist and will have to wait a little bit to achieve his dreams, but from the looks of it, it will not be long.
When asked what he thought about reading or if he had any advice for kids about reading he said, “That he enjoys reading, it can be fun, and everyone should do it more often.” When he learned he was Reader of the Week, Kimble said he felt “Good about it and he only felt “kind of good” about being interviewed. He felt very cool about being able to be in the newspaper!”

Rhodes Dellinger
Hayden Library’s Summer Reading Program Reader of the Week is Rhodes Dellinger, who is 6! His parents are Lauren and Matt. Rhodes has two younger sisters, Evan and Briar, and is expecting a new sibling soon. He is schooled at home and enjoys playing with his sisters and good friends Naomi and Westby, Arthur, Tessa, Benny and Savannah. Rhodes has lived in Hayden about three years and has a dog named Millie. When asked what he would like to do when he grows up Rhodes answered, “A worker at the ski mountain, a Professional Golfer and a Baseball player.”
Rhodes’ favorite color is the rainbow, every color but purple, and his favorite foods to eat are cheese burgers, ice cream and pizza! Fun things he likes to do are to go swimming, build train tracks and hopes to catch a BIG bass one day.
His favorite book to read is National Geographic Robots. He also likes the Heartwood Hotel series with the characters Mona and Mr. Heartwood. Rhodes’ advice he would give to other kids about reading is, “Read about robots!” Rhodes was very excited about being Reader of the Week. Congratulations Rhodes!

Hayden Public Library’s fourth Reader of the Week, is Cameron K! Her parent’s names are Cori and Brian, her little sisters name is Morgan, and their dog Ridgley. Who is a Rottweiler, Coonhound, and Doberman mix. They have lived in Hayden for the last four years. Her best friends are Gwen, age 9 and Lila, also age 9. When they are together they love to ride their bikes around their neighborhood, but especially to the pond near their house. Where they like to watch for fish, and catch frogs.
Cameron’s favorite color is green, her favorite food is Mac & Cheese, and her favorite TV show is Bunk’d. Her favorite book is Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling. Her favorite summer pass time is jumping on the trampoline. She loves to play many different sports, such as, Basketball, Dance, Snowboarding, and Gymnastics. She wants to be a gymnast when she grows up, so she is doing a good job getting an early start.
This summer her vacation plans are to go to Girl Scout camp, and have sleepovers with friends. When we asked how she felt about being reader of the week she said “I was bummed that I missed the first interview, but I was really happy after that. I was also surprised and excited to be in the newspaper.” When asked what she would tell other young kids about reading, she said “Reading helps you be smart, and be good at your job. Especially if you are a librarian.” How right she is!

Violet Arsonault
Hayden Library’s fifth Reader of the Week is Violet Arsonault, age 8. She has lived in Hayden with her family, since she was born. Her parents are Beth and Aaron, and her older sister is Autumn. They have a dog named June, who goes crazy, and gets her zoomies. Her best friends are Rosie and Brinley.
Violet’s favorite colors are black, purple, red, and blue. Her favorite foods are sushi, shrimp, and rotisserie chicken. Her favorite TV show is Mr. Beast, because he does kind things for people. In her free time she loves to read, or color, or play Mind Craft. Her favorite book is Wings of Fire, by Tui T. Sutherland. She also loves the books by Shel Silverstein. Violet loves to play soccer and her favorite subject in school is writing. She wants to be a Zoo Keeper when she grows up, so that she can be around her favorite animal, the giraffe.
This summer she gets to go and stay at her Grandma and Grandpa’s house, while her sister is away at camp. When asked if she has any advice for kids about reading she said “It takes you into a really cool place. There are really cool stuff in books.” When asked how she felt about being Reader of the Week, she said she “Jumped up and down, and was very excited.”

Charlie Hunter
Hayden Library’s sixth Reader of the Week is Charlie Hunter. She has lived in Hayden for the last three years with her family. Her little brother Henry, age 6 and her parents Selena, Ronald, Eric, and as Charlie says her father God! She has a dog named Duke, who lives at her father’s house. Her best friends are Ophelia, Scarlett, and her cousin Abi.
Charlie will be in 3rd grade next year, and her favorite subject in school is Science. When she grows up she wants to be a Book Tester, where she can read all the books and tell you if it is a good book or a bad book. How needed that is!
Her favorite book is Harry Potter, by J.K. Rowling. Which is also her favorite movie. Her favorite color is any shade of blue. Her favorite type kind of food is any kind of pasta or lasagna. She also loves to dance. In her free time, she loves to hang out with her family, draw, and read. This summer she is going on vacation to Michigan with her family.
When asked what advice she would give to younger kids about reading, she said “Always read, read all the time!” When we asked how she felt about being Reader of the Week she said “That she was super, super, super excited!” When we asked how she felt about being in the newspaper, she said “That she was twice as excited!”

Fenna Van Tubbergen
Hayden Public Library’s seventh Reader of the Week is Fenna Van Tubbergen, age 7. She has lived in Hayden with her parents, Courtney and Justin, and her younger brother Arlo, for the last six years. Her best friends are Hazel, Addie, and Milo.
When Fenna grows up she wants to be an artist, just like her favorite artist Bob Ross. She loves to spend her free time playing with Polly Pockets, and playing tennis. Her favorite color is pink, and her favorite food is water melon. Her favorite TV show is Bluey, and her Favorite book series is the Boxcar Children, by Gertrude Chandler Warner. Her favorite subject in school is writing, and she will be in 2nd grade this year. Her summer plans this year are, to spend time with her Grandparents when they come to visit.
When asked if she had any advice for younger kids about reading she said “Read a lot more.” She also said that she was “so excited” when she found out that she was going to be the Reader of the Week.
Reader of the Week #8 – Sam Boyle
Hayden Library’s eighth Reader of the Week is Sam Boyle, age 7. He has lived in Hayden with his family for three years. His parents are Katie and Tim. His older brother is Nate, who lives in Rhinebeck, New York, and he has a younger sister Emma. They have a dog named Otis, and seven chickens, their names are: Peachy, Will, Jack, Striker, Raptor, Falcon, Emit and Yellow Chicken. His best friends are Dixson, Finn, Jacob and Morgan. They like to play outdoors and do magnets.
His favorite color is red. His favorite food is a hot dog with a bun. His favorite TV show is “Wild Kratts.” In his free time, he loves to read, do magnets, draw and make stuff. His favorite sport is wrestling, skiing, baseball, soccer and wants to try flag football. His favorite book is the “Wings of Fire” series by Tui T. Sutherland. His favorite subjects in school are science, writing and reading (math is not his favorite, to be honest).
This summer he went camping at Steamboat Lake and Disneyland in California. When asked if he has any advice for kids he said, “Try a book and don’t judge it by its cover, and to smaller kids, if you think you can read something, read it.”
When he found out he was the reader of the week he said, “It was fun; I felt nervous, things like that make me nervous.”
